What there are Few Females in DP?

I guess the number of Females here must be just 1/6 of the Total members. But why Girls / Woman are not Interested in SEO , Internet Marketing stuffs ? Is there any specific reason behind it ? I find it really strange ..

Also In most Forums , the number of Females tend to be way less than that of Males . IS it that Girls / Woman find it hard to Register ?

 

I think it is that women don't really like to use computers. The ones that do are really smart. Most guys are into making money and if you can do it on the internet they why the hell not. I think that women should be more internet savy most of my clients are women and they know when there is a good business around. They have good business sense.

 

I love using computers and I know quite a few internet savvy women.

Personally, I tend to spend more time reading than posting on most forums.

I don't know probably DP Forums is a little too masculine for them, I feel comfortable with this forum, and I'm learning a lot when it comes to technical issues. But I think most women are fond of chatting about other topics

Because women are busy talking on the phone...

And women are interested in technical stuff as men (not even close)

 

Well to be honest it is not just on DP. Also many of the women here at DP don't like to say they are as the men on DP are a bit.. odd, and treat women differently.

 

Thats right , they are busy watching Soaps or Gossiping , Joking

Perhaps women register as men to avoid any problems or being hassled.
Sort of the same reasons that we use "screen names".

I dont think people here hassle women. Maybe some jokes here and there, but non is meant toward any specif person...

 

No no no. They don't harrass, they just treat them as lower than them. It hurts alot of geeks pride when women join in!

 

Well I think girls don’t have more interest on SEO……SEO is made for Boys only.

I think it depends on the woman and their background. My husband 313i is very much into the whole website thing, he tells me all the cool things that google does and the point of page ranking...but most of it gets me lost and I loose interest...I am more into the hands-on part of computers...give me computer parts and some tools and I am happy...

It's not that I don't want to learn about building, selling, and gaining page rank...it's just I would rather do something else.

 

You think that DP has it bad? Try scifi forums, they are like 99% sausage fests
