What the hell should I do?

    Background:
From December 1 to December 20th, I've spent over $32,000 advertising my site with the most premium PPC advertising. I've had gross revenues from YPN in that time of over $60,000. YPN CTR hovers around 1.3% I've been using YPN for the last year, but this is the first month I decided to really "go for it" and up my ad costs, drive traffic to my site, and make real money from YPN.

    Dilemma:
Should I lay off advertising more until I get December's check?
I'd especialy like to hear from publisher's making $3k+/day who can PM me if they wish to retain their privacy.

    Issues:
    1) I'd hate to get terminated after incurring more ad costs. From what I've read, one wm who was terminated--"bigrollerdave"--indicated that YPN said they would pay him minus non-US visitors (no biggy as I am 95%+ USA) minus NON-CONVERTING CLICKS (wtf?!?!?). Obviously I'm worried about the latter since I have neither control of this nor any knowledge of whether it is good or bad. Asking YPN "how am I doing?" seems real dicey as I don't want to call attention to my site unnecessarily nor do I expect them to give me an answer.

    2) I run neither a niche site nor a myspace site, so conversions from clicks on the the ads on my site is anybody's guess--but likely not a great value for my advertisers based on my RPC averages (but why the hell are they paying so much per visitor--who the hell do they employ to spend their ad dollars?!?!? Not to mention the fact that the high RPC is just that portion that Yahoo is sharing with me; my guess is that the advertiser is paying Yahoo Search Marketing at least double what I am getting paid!!) Furthermore, many of the ads on my site point to URLs where what constitues a conversion is unclear (no place to sign up for anything, buy anything, etc.)

    3) I'd hate to be spooked for no reason, shut down the site and miss out on earnings for January if things proceed without a hitch. Worse still, I'd hate to trip a sensor by shutting things down and then restarting them with gusto if I get paid in a timely fashion for January.

Damned if I do? damned if I don't? Ideas? Suggestions?

    Sincerely, Worried.

I would pause the advertising campaign(s) if I was you, especially because you aren't too confident about how those clicks are converting for the all-important advertisers.

Hard call! I have an account somewhat like this and the payout is insane! I think it's a glitch in the system but it works for me. I was not sure to milk it, pause it or to run it slow.

I milk it and it works for me. Your case is different (Yahoo!) but the situation was the same. Regardless, you are lucky!

Ditch PPC and rank organically. Unless you are very good and are positive all the PPC campaigns are converting extremly well, ditch them. PPC is somewhat down this time of year depending on your niche. Overall, I am not a big fan of PPC. Ranking organically is much more cost-effective.

Yeah with the money you are spending on PPC you could buy a LOT of high quality high traffic links and banners and get your SEO on that way.

So you could still drive a lot of traffic to your site per day while increasing your organic rankings as time passes.

Don’t stop advertising completely. That will be worse thing that you can do for your payment and your site!!! Just, partially remove parts of the advertising campaign... If you don’t have anything to hide you will be just fine.
