what the hell happened to my links and pagerank!?

    Hey guys

This is very strange, can someone help me out here

I had a site at www.urbanmonk.net that started 2 months ago. I've been building up backlinks by blogging, article marketing, and directory submission.

My predicted PR was about 4. Now my links (using Google search link:www.urbanmonk.net) has gone down, and my predicted PR has gone to 0, or the Page Rank predictor tools return errors.

    Please help me out:
    1) Has the new PR been rolled out by Google yet?
    2) What happened to my PR? Either my article marketing backfired and I got buried (but I rewrote all the articles I have on my blog so there is a big difference between the articles I submitted and the ones I have on my blog)
    3) I moved from Dreamhost to Lunarpages and things have been screwy since - but I don't see how that will affect backlinks and pagerank? I moved weeks ago!

    Please advise!

BTW, i used searched for link:www.urbanmonk.net (without space) and link: www.urbanmonk.net (with a space between : and www) and I got very different results.

You could have been moved to a server that has been blacklisted as a shady server. I have heard of this in the past, but never experienced it first hand.

The other thing to remember is that PR is only a reflection of your PAST backlinks. In addition, the link command in Google Search NEVER shows all of your back links. Don't get hung up on PR. If you are doing the things you are doing and nothing blackhat, everything else will take care of its self.

To get a better idea of your backlinks, search for links in MSN and Yahoo. They have much more liberal policies about showing backlinks. They won't show you all of yours either, but between the three engines you can get a pretty good idea of what is out there.

    hmm thanks for that...

I'm with lunar pages, it's quite a big and well known server, so it should be alright?

i was also worried about duplicate content so I rewrote all the existing content so that should be fixed. I don't know what's going on.
