What the hell? Google Analytics

    Hey guys,

Something weird is going on... my google analytics account is screwed up.

My traffic and visitors have not changed, but it appears most of my traffic has turned into DIRECT TRAFFIC... and I have lost almost all of my Search Engine Referrals...

This is obviously NOT the case, rather for some reason SE traffic is converting into a direct traffic status.. anyone have any ideas? Is it happening to anyone else? Maybe something I did?

    Thanks!

Doing just fine here. Try some other traffic counter tools like from statcounter.

No problems here, I would suggest playing around with the tracking code or simply searching for your own website and clicking on it to test.

I had a similar case. But it was not due to Analytic problem. It happened when I redirected all request from my domain to index.cgi by using .htaccess. Meaning if a user type in www.mydomain.com it will display www.mydomain.com/index.cgi. But this sometime doesn't work for my hosting (don't know why), so to ensure that it always refer to index.cgi, I created another index.html which consist of a redirect script that will end up redirecting to index.cgi.

So when a visitor comes directly to index.cgi it can be traced by Analytic, but if he comes from index.html then all referer are lost. This on the other hand will be identified as direct traffic.

    Hope that helps.. :)

mmm..I am trying to nail it down... I recently swithched hosts.... and did a NAME SERVER change. For the first few days analytics reported correctly, and I have asked transfer of my domain name. So I am curious if that could at all be factor. I will watch it for a few days and see what happens. It just sucks not being able to see what keywords people are using for all my visits..I can get a good guess because of the pages they visit however.

I am in Australia and my analytics is playing up today as well. Seems to be very delayed and i could possibly be experiencing the same with referring sites being counted as direct traffic.

    Who knows..

For the past few days, I am experiencing lot of problems with google analytics. Especially the problem where analytics is not updating and showing less traffic compared to normal days. I am not sure what the reason is.
