What the heck is this SEO person trying to sell me?

    I started a computer service business two months ago. Yesterday I get a call from somebody claiming that he could get my website to the top of the SERPs. I asked him how he would do that. And he told me that if I would like, he could get me to the top of Google within 45 minutes as a demonstration. I told him that was impossible and I wasn't interested. He then started laughing at me and said something along the lines of, "You say it is impossible, but this is what I do for a living." I asked him if he was going to use Adwords to do it and he said no it isn't Adwords. I told him I wasn't interested and said good bye to him.

    So what the hell was this guy trying to sell to me? lol He said he could get me into the top three results within 45 minutes.

    Was he really serious or just pranking ?? and i think if he had offered you a demonstration, you could have taken a DEMO :) as it costed u nothing and the skills of the person was also confirmed by you and I think u know what revenue u can make if u rank in top page for some highly searched keywords., infact in millions monthly and u could also have partnered with him if he was interested.. **I think he was doing some blackhat method or some internal link in google**

    You were right. Its not possible. Even if you did lots of SEO, google wouldn't see it straight away.

    If he could do it in 45 min, must be a redirect form a site he has ranking.

    Cloaking still takes a while to take effect... AND it won't help SERPS, just BS a high PR and traffic rating.

    Had to be someone playing a prank on you, trying to take advantage of you, or just him paying less for PPC ads than he would have asked you to pay him.

    You should have called his bluff and watched him do his demo. You had nothin to lose. If it worked you would have made out of it. If it had failed then you could have had a good laugh.
