Hello folks, I'm new to the blogosphere world and would like to find out quickly what some of the differences between adsense and adwords are. How does adwords work? I know adsense are those stupid advertisements that people have become blind to, however are adwords the key words during google search that rank your site higher? If so, how does it work and how much should your budget be to create an effective yet cost wise campaign?
Adwords is a service where you can adveritse your site. Adsense is a service where you can sell advertising on your site.
Adwords are the sponsored links you see on the side of the search results. They are also the opposite side of the adsense coin - adsense is the program for webmasters who have a site to put ads on, adwords is the program for people who have goods or services they want to advertise. In those "stupid advertisements".
Thanks Mag and Dootch I think I got it. Adsense, you display the ads, Adwords you create your ad to do your advertising. Do you find them effective though? Alot of people claim that people have become blind to them over time.
In my experience I have found both Adwords and Adsense to be quite effective. My personal opinion is that I always look at Adwords first, because people that are paying for my attention are probably more what I am looking for than organic listings that may be there by accident. On the other side of the coin, I have had clients tell me that they never even look at the sponsored links. All you can do is try them out for yourself and see how they perform for you. If Adwords is producing a positive ROI, then keep using it. If Adsense is giving you a higher return on your webspace, keep using it.
