wow very useful information!! 1) Now, with the competitors keywords, should I use the SAME ones or change it up a bit? 2) Directories, is there certain ones for LOCAL only? Or does it even matter? 3) Can you give me a good ping list please?
1. target unique keywords that have meaning to them. Don't just go after other website names. It will not benefit you much at all. You'll have way better success going after words that offer useful, unique information, products or services. 2. We have no idea where you are located, so we cannot tell you if there is a local directory for you or not. But yes, there are sometimes local directories and yes sometimes it is a benefit to be in them. My company has one we created for Muskegon, Michigan. We gave every local business a free listing (5,000 of them and 0 are outside of our area). From there we call every one once per year and offer them additional services. So, yes we have a great local directory, but I can't speak for everyone of them. 3. The only advice I can give you is to write a lot of good content. Write at least one blog post per day and keep it up. You'll build up an audience. Then as you write great content your posts will probably get posted to social networking sites like digg, Twitter, etc.
If you are launching a brand new site, getting quality links right away will help you get started quickly. It also makes up for some junk links that you might add inadvertently. I like to add new sites to these 3 major directories, and then work on other secondary directories later: Yahoo Dir, BOTW, Business.com
Phase I Selecting targeted keywords Page specific Title tag creating Page specific Description tag creating Implement Title and Description on pages Search Engine Submission Phase II Off-page optimization Activities
all the experts above already mentioned lots of steps / tips...i cannot put more now but just wanted to tell you that you will require perfect and professional SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION for your new website to get it UP.
Obtain a list of keywords that you're targeting in your content. Make sure your keyword phrase appears in your content with a keyword density of about 2%. Build backlinks that point directly to those pages and that are relevant.
