    Hey all,
Just wondering what software do you use to make your websites? Or what software can you recommend to someone who doesn't know all aspects of coding?
    cheers

One of the best plugins for Wordpress currently is WP-Robot.
It has many many modules and it's used in a Shezblog (or so they call them here). It's a bit pricey but worth every penny if set up right.

I don't recommend you build a site yourself until you have some degree of understanding of the technologies.

All you need is a highly productive text editor and something for the graphic work you might need if you don't have a graphics wonk.

I use Emacs for my editor, only because it's the most powerful and productive editor available. Those fanboyz who worship at the temple of Vi may disagree, but what do they know? :p

For graphics, GIMP, Inkscape and Imagemagick will cover your needs.

    cheers,

    gary

When i first started coding html websites many years ago, I used dreamweaver. However, by using that tool I could not understand how html worked, and the result was poor. Today I use a simple text editor (textmate in my case) for both html and programming. I've tried many different tools but this is what I like the best.

I like Photoshop for the graphical design on my sites, then I'll code the layout in Dreamweaver, and any PHP coding is done is PHP Designer 7. I also have XAMPP on my computer to test any PHP coding I do.
