What social media monitoring tools are the most useful?

    http://ping.fm/ is a nice one. However, it's for updating statuses everywhere simultaneously)) but it's a helpful thing

    I'm using ping[dot]com, tweetdeck and hootsuite in monitoring my social networking profiles. I have the chance to update and share what I want to share to my friends and followers. These tools are very helpful to me in posting my status and I can share my post to all social networks that I joined.

    The most useful tools will depend on your needs and budget but the paid for ones (Radian6, Sysomos, etc) offer the most functionality. I personally use Tweetdeck, Twilert, Google Alerts and Netvibes. I use Netvibes (I use Google alerts via here) to monitor all sorts of stuff such as news (rss feeds) as well as keywords/markets.

    I haven't heard of ifttt so thanks for the heads up as I will check it out.
