This happend to one my sites too. The site is almost 3 years old and ranked #1 for many keywords and now it ranks anywhere from 40-60 for those keywords. It has been about 5 weeks since the drop. Have you bought any links lately? Duplicate content?

What is the url? I can take a look.

One or many of your back links may have dropped off for multiple reasons.
Check you backlinks, you will probably find you have slipped into the supplemental index.
I had a similar situation with a blog of mine.

I found my position easy to get back by link building with a few new sites.

Other possibilities are keyword penalties. For example. if your title tag, meta description, heading tags, and alt tags are over using your main keyword that could also be a reason for being dropped.

    Hope this helps!

I suggest that you should wait for sometime and watch, may be it will come back.
    Sometimes it happens.

I agree. Try to build yourself some quality backlinks with forum posting at different forums and update your sites content. It may return soon. You could have fail back because of lack of new content.

If you are not adding fresh content to your site, you may face this problem. No worry try adding fresh content and your site will be back on top of search rankings again.
