First, learn how to use Google to answer this question that gets asked over and over again on countless forums.

But you gotta admit, they are great for jacking up our post counts :D
I don't care if the question is repetitive because the replies are sometimes interesting.

Start with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Then learn the basics of either PHP or ASP.
Only after all that should you start learning databases (MySQL).

For designing websites, learn how to make PSD templates with Photoshop.

But not yours. While you may be entertained, that shouldn't be the point of asking the question.

I learned Java as my first programming language. (HTML is a markup language.) It was difficult, but after learning it, PHP and C# were a lot easier. Javascript is almost a "cut&paste" language for me that I sometimes edit a little. SQL I learned after Java and C#. I would say use this order of scripts: HTML>CSS>PHP>MySQL with some JavaScript thrown in there somewhere.

HTML, XHTML, CSS, , JAVA, PHP, ASP, I leanrt all these things (in that order) off w3school tutorials (google w3school). the tutes wont make you an expert (im far, far, from it) but they give you a good basic understanding.
