currently i have between 5 - 7 outbound links per page, site-wide on one of my sites, how will this affect the pr or my site, currently most pages are pr1 or pr2. what should the most amount of outbound links on a page be?
ive heard under 20 but dont know where the article i saw that is http://www.google.com/webmasters/guidelines.html this is google~s advice, less than 100, but i doubt if you are doing link exchanges that people will trade if you have more than 20 cheers
Depends how much content you have on each page, if a large percentage of your text is made up of links, either external or internal, then 2 or 3 links can be too many.
i would think though that too many outbounds and google would slap a link farm penalty on you, and ive also heard that outbound links spread your pr around but that never struck me as logical
in adsense i have read that the out bound links must be less than 100, but then i will never have so many out bound links on one page. perhaps 10 out bound links on a pr1-2 page is more than enough to have. but then if you have links from other sites, linking to the page, then perhaps you can increase the out bound links from your site
I've read that your outbound links should go to reputable sites. You could get a penalty for linking to stuff like link farms.
hmm...well I am sure you've seen .edu and .org sites , I have, with 100's of outbound links on 1 page. And, yes they probably have a lot of inbound links as well.
well i put a max of 10 outgoins links on my sites these days, under 20 is good enough, basses PR to all in a good way and better than having 100 links in one page.
