What should I learn.....

    So I'm considering learning a programming language, as I've always wanted to make/sell my own software. What language would you reccommend for a beginner? I understand the fundamentals of programming, and ain't too bad at PHP.

    Just looking for a language that is cross compatible with Mac's and Windows (if that's possible) and has plenty of tutorial/help sites/forums.

    Learn Flash + ActionScript. Then create cool animations which everyone will like and they will bring you lots of traffic :)

    well it depends what kinda software do you want to sell.If your looking at good software (IE,WinAmp...) learn C++ basicly C++ is the best for software.

    I am not understand that what kind of software do you want to develop either Web Developing Software, Database Application but you mention that run both on windows and mac. ( than you should be start lerning either c++ or java )

    i think for stand alone application java or C# would be good and for the web side python is the new trend

    Learn C++. Rest of the languages would become very easy for you. Otherwise if you want your life a bit easier and relaxed, learn Python.
