What should I learn to build themes?

    I want to know what I need to learn to be able to build professional looking themes for Wordpress, Joomla, etc? I have some basic knowledge of html from years ago, but I learn computer code very quickly so I want to learn what I need in order to make some of my own themes.

    Dreamweaver and Adobe photoshop. there is a plugin for dreamweaver that will let you build templates for jooomla
