What should I do?

I hate using blogger. I just don't like anything about it. And now I am hearing a lot of people saying their blogs were suddenly deleted. I have a pretty successful blog on Blogger that I am looking to move. My question is what is should I move it to Wordpress? Or is there a better option? And also what's the cheapest paid web hosting that will get the job done?

I would get on wordpress...I would get hosting with HostGator because they have cheap and reliable hosting. Best of all they go through CPanel which makes it all pretty user friendly. Fantastico does all the installing that you need. I have been using wordpress for a little over 3 years now. Its been really good to me man...its worth a look. I have been on everything from Freewebs, Xanga, LiveJournal, Blogger, Drupal, PHP-Nuke, and now WordPress. Wordpress is the most fun and easiest to use. The best part about it all is the amount of documentation out there. If you have a little money I would pay the 20 dollars a year that Elegant Themes charges and they have full support for all of their badass templates.

Anyways hope I was of some help.

Make the switch to Wordpress. You can customize it using themes and plugins.

I also think that hosting your blog on Wordpress is your best option, but if you have some programming and database knowledge, I suggest you buy a cheap hosting and install wordpress on it. You will still be able to install themes and plugins and everything will be hosted on your own server.

It's well worth making the switch to a paid web host with Wordpress for your blogging platform. What is your monthly budget?

Wordpress is surely the best... and instead of looking for the cheapest web host, you should look for the most reliable instead... who would provide you uninterrupted service with excellent support! :)
You can always take the help of the sites who operate in this segment and provide excellent information on various hosting options available! :)

I personally would recommend going with a hosting account and installing a Wordpress blog. That way you won't find yourself wanting to switch services again as you currently are with Blogger.

I believe Hostgator has everything you need for a few dollars a month. Combine that with a domain name and you could be totally independent for about $15.00

Wordpress is the best. The same was the story with me. I was also having a successful blog hosted at blogger but finally I shifted to wordpress self host.

Best Hosting according to me is hostgator, but if you want even more cheaper then I suggest you Bizzhost.Using bizzhost you need to pay $10 per year for 1GB space and 10GB bandwidth (limited)

You should move to the self-hosted platform that you area familiar with.

Having said that, It doesn't need to be Wordpress, it can be joomla, Moveable Type or any other platform you feel comfortable with. But if you are new to self-hosted blog, then I would recommend Wordpress.

Definitely make the switch to wordpress, buy your own hosting, (I use Go Daddy, I think its very easy to use and easy to mange your blog) and purchase your own domain.

Google loves Wordpress so that should be your choice. Make sure to buy your own domain and hosting tho. Going for Wordpress will be the best choice, and you'll realize that soon if you do. Simply said, it's a whole new level of endless possibilities ;)

I know Google loves Wordpress. I had a Wordpress.com blog and a blogger blog, and the Wordpress blog did so much better in search engines.

That's the only reason I was using Blogger in the first place. I thought Google would show a little love to their own, but they don't at all.

I only use the free blogs to test out offers in a niche. I send a spike of traffic to see the conversions. If they are good then i would invest in a domain name. Never put your trust in google that easily. I mean If i keep parking my car in your backyard, if you decide to lock your backyard, i won't have access to my car wouldn't i? It is just not worth it.

    Hi kasey,

I'd been on Blogger for nearly nearly three years and got myself a PR3 but I was starting to feel constrained by the rules.

In January I got myself some hosting with GoDaddy and moved my hundreds of posts across to Wordpress.org. It took me just over 10 weeks to get my PR3 back again but I love working with wordpress now. I have the freedom to put up what ads I want and am not restricted in terms of content either. Best thing I ever did. And I'd advise anyone who is a serious blogger to start on wordpress.org rather than wasting time and effort with a free site.

    Best Wishes and Good Luck!
