Hi, I've been tinkering around with my blog www.flashculture.com for a bit, and its getting about 40 Uv's per day. It seems to be PR6, and for that I'm not sure what to do with it, is it worth keeping on going to try and boost the traffic? or what else could I do with it? thanks for any advice.
If you are interested to sell it let me know! $$ or a article submittion with your own reviews for $ could get you some bucks!
I'd got with selling links. You could make some pretty decent money from just having some links in your footer
thanks for all the replies. If you are interested in buying it pm me with an offer. I'm not saying I'll sell but if its something I can't refuse then who knows! 2 people mentioned selling links (and in the footer? you mean right at the bottom of the front page?), how would I go about this?
Hi, First of all, if you wanted to sell, I would auction it on Snapnames, or something similar. But, I am a bit perplexed. You have high PR, which probably means there are some good sites linking to you, but you have not been able to build up your readership. Have you figured out why? I have lots of natural traffic on my domain, but haven't been able to get retention. Are you having the same problem? This is probably where you should concentrate your efforts. Rich
I've had some offers on it within the last few hours, but not enough to make me want to sell it. I'm not sure why I'm not getting high traffic, perhaps because its such a niche area (the world of Adobe Flash). I'm not sure what is meant by put a directory on it and sell the links? I also have a site www.socialnetworklist.com which is one big directory but I'm not sure I would want to sell those links as they are the reason why people go to the site!
Adobe flash is a pretty big niche I would say. Have you tried having some flash galleries? With a PR6 I'm sure you could charge a few people to sell their flash animations through your site. There are plenty of ways you can start monitizing this site. I would be a bit concerned about the lack of regular traffic, but you seem to be only updating once a week or so, so there's probably not people popping back every day. I would guess your traffic is all straight from search engines. Finding a way to get them to visit more regularly is probably the first thing to focus on - especially if you are thinking of selling.
well I'm open to all idea's right now, although I'm not sure who would sell their Flash animations through the site! I suspect they would want to see large traffic numbers. Lots of people keep saying sell links, but I don't understand that. Does it mean text ad's like adsense? or something else?
regarding links, what I do want is to promote my www.socialnetworklist.com directory, so if anyone has a website with good traffic, instead of selling a link, I'll be happy to do a link exchange where they put a link to socialnetworklist.com on their site and I put a link to their site on my FlashCulture.com...is that a good idea? and how would I go about finding these people?
PR6 is pretty powerful, and people are prepared to pay for a link to their own site from a PR6 domain. There's talk that google will penalize both sites though if they think you are doing it. You might like to simply consider offering users the chance to upload their flash files - put them all in a gallery and sell the source for $1 each or something, split the profit with the seller. This does three things: 1. It gets you a membership site. 2. It provides user generated content that will keep people coming back to check your site. 3. It provides you a stream of income. Once you get it going you may like to change from just paying out on what people buy to making it a monthly membership fee with all profits from sales going to the member. Allow them to post a link with their work so they can get referral work etc. As I say - there are a ton of possibilities once you start looking down that path. membership sites with a stable customer base also tend to sell very well. Good luck, Rob
Thanks for the tips. The problem with what you suggested is that the site is created with wordpress, and I don't see any easy way to turn it into an upload site without perhaps hiring someone to create a bespoke site. Also there is lots of free Flash source code available online. regarding the links, would it still be against google's TOS to exchange links?
by the way if you like to add uploading, we provide that service. We could sponsor your site or you can by our services. PM me your email and I'll give more details.
blogging for a fee?? the site currently is a blog, do you mean I write articles and they appear on other peoples blogs? how does that help FlashCulture though? If having a PR6 site is useful for people to be on, then I'm happy to have peoples links on there for free for now if they have high traffic websites that I can put a link (in a good position) on for socialnetworklist.com. Just not sure where to find these people!
