I have a few domains that are not really doing much but sitting there. I've got a forum on each and get a few clicks off them but nothing good. I'm just looking for some good ideas and comments I'm going to put down a few sites here What I am wondering is: 1. First up is howyoucanvolunteer.org and .com. .org has a forum with 42 members. It gets about 2-10 visits a day. I am thinking of a simple articel site about volunteering with a forum/blog. What do you thikn would be the best way to develop this domain? It isn't a real money maker so far only 14 bucks since may 05. ALSO. What should I do with the .com? Should I just continue to point it to the .org or should that be developed in the same way but with different volunteer type content? 2. I am debating on this one. Malibuforum.com. I can't figure out if it should be a forum for chevy malibu owners or for malibu california type forum. What do you think would be the best use of the name? 3. This one also has a forum on it, searchingformyfamily.com it isn't really a money maker either but it is just sitting there. When it does get clicks they are pretty good. I can only really see some sort of genealogy site, but I'm not sure exactly what types of content or ideas I could go with? Do you Have any? 4. quackaward.com. I have in mind a site that users can buy an award to have sent to the doctor they think is a quack and the information would be listed on the site with the names of quack doctors, dentists and the like in some sort of database with a comments area about why each user thought the doctor deserved to be there. The only thing holding me back is well, the database, a printer that doesn't come from wal-mart, in other words a printer that actually prints and a cartoon drawing of a quack doctor. If you have any ideas I would love to hear them 5. beaglepages.com (beagle the dog breed ) I have set up a forum, and found a script that was made for users to create a page to list their car on with a picture and some info but modified it to be used for a "beagle page" Some feedback would be really great beaglepages.com/indextest.htm - homepage design beaglepages.com/community - the forum beaglepages.com/cgi-bin/readers.cgi?action=view&type=standard&user=test - This would be a users beagle page layout. 6. calabasashills.com - I am stumped on this one. I would rather not make sites just to have ads on but would rather develop the domains into something that actually makes the net better insted of adding to the amazing amount of junk out there, that is why I take so long doing something with these. I like your domains a lot. And I'm not sure that you should make a quick decision on what to do with them. The searchingformyfamily one is something that I can see becoming a very well known site some day. All the others as well. Your domains are not the quick fix types that you would buy to put up sites and make money soon (except the Calabasis Hills one). I like the fact that you have forums on those, but I wouldn't have the forum on the homepage. Rather have the home page redirect to a folder where the forum is sitting for now. Then you can easily expand lateron and make your home page something with links to different sections of your site that include the forum.
Thanks for the comments Blogmaster! I have been thinking about these for a few months trying to come up with the best development for each. Thought I would see what everyone thought, maybe spark a good idea
