Hi guys, so today I bought the domain JustGotScammed.com and my first thought was to create a site about scams,how to avoid them, types of scams, what to do to find the scammer. I was going to monetize this by, putting CPA ads about Reverse-Mobile and Reverse-Email, which could be used to find the scammer. My friend has recommended I do a forum about scams,legal actions, how to avoid scams, and etc. Which idea do you guys think is better, not only Profit wise, but more in general related to the domain. Thanks for any opinions, if you think there is something else that can be done, don't be afraid to mention it. Thanks guys.
Well, just do the first one. Website with CPA offers. Because building a huge forum community will take a lot of time, and is hard to monetize/edit. BUT, if you're experienced with forums, create one too. Why don't you create a website that's all about scamming, and add another page that links to the forums. So people can meet each other that are scammed by the same person, and find him/her. Pages like: -Home, -About Scams, -Types of Scams, - Avoid Scams, -Forums good luck
Stupid answer. I recommend going with the first option you had, it sounded great as I was reading it.
The first part of the idea is good. You could also solicit and post "just got scammed" emails from readers. Peope love to rant and read rants. Make sure you have a privacy policy and keep the identity of submittors anonymous when requested.
Unlike all other options Recycle Bin is the only one that always work, just do your stuff...when you get tired consider giving the RB a try
Haha no, RB would be the last thing you should do! Every website has potentional. Selling it is much better than putting it in your recycle bin
I agree, the first option is best. A lot of people get scammed and they would like to get revenge and might use some of the resources on your site to find the culprit.
Every site has potential for what? lurkers? I once had a site with about 500000 visitors per day and i didn't sell a single item for 4 years
Another suggestion is to check out the competition, (e.g., Ripoff Report website). See what type of activity is there, and what topics are the most active. What about the sites "feel"? What type of advertising are they using to monetize it? There are already a lot of complaint or scam sites on the net but that doesn't mean there is not room for another one. Especially if it focuses on something that is not covered on other scam sites. You have a great domain name for such a topic. Best wishes for your success in this endeavor!
Your first idea is good. In fact, a couple of weeks back I did a review of a blog that was built solely on the subject of spams. The owner is going all out to promote that blog. You can go ahead and do that as well. Scams are always interesting reads. Take a look at Snopes.com for inspiration
