yes you can do this.. also I would suggest you to public your communications about your deal which clarifies that you have done his/her job. Then you can also complaint to Mod.... I guess this will sort it out.. leaving a negative i-trader would completely destroy your chances of compromise, better you first request and ask, there might be some other reasons for not paying... you both can resolve the issues..I guess.. B O Luck..

Depends on the specific job and where you are geographically in comparison to them. If they live across the street, a quick visit with your trusted baseball bat will clear things up ;)

How much money was it for? Did you document everything? If so, you could make a case against them if you can prove you did the work that was agreed upon and they are refusing to pay.

Yes i think so you can just leave him/her a negative itrader because mods/admins are not responsible for any transactions done in BST so everyone here play on their own risks :)
Negative itrader will warn future sellers not to deal with him and whenever dealing with someone, try to see if they got some good itraders specially by reputed sellers ..
    Thanks

That happened to me before I just didn't complain or added a negative rep to that person. Besides, he will just pay me one dollar for that service. Better give that service to him free.

it was for $40, about the proof... hmm... the only proof i got are the files that i edited... and the same files are on his server. no idea what other proof i can have.

like i said... next time i will check the person first. that's all i can do i guess. :>

but thank you all for all kind of suggestions/help etc.

If that's the only proof you've got then there's nothing you can do. You had a verbal contract which is pretty much impossible to fight in court.

Next time save all your emails with the person and before either of you does any work at all have a thorough list of the work you will be doing for them. Make sure every detail is covered, and include the payment terms and information.

Send it to your client and make them reply to it saying they agree to everything in the document (better if you can get them to sign/fax it to you, but it's not the end of the world). Make sure to have as much of their identity in the document as possible (name, email, address, phone number, etc).

It takes a bit of extra time to do it all, but you'll have it all documented so you can be protected against crap like this AND when they say 'hey, feature ABC isn't included!' in the final piece you can point out that it wasn't included in the contract and they can negotiate a new contract for that extra feature.

: Always get a little up front, even for $40.00 - helps a little when client turns to trash...

It seems that there are people that do not deliver both on the buying and the selling side. Reputation is very important and if possible deal with those that have a good reputation. I am frequently a buyer. I take a look at i-traders, but did not think that it was important for me as a buyer. I will start getting more i-Traders based on this post.
