Well, it's birthday weekend for me. Another year older, and another year closer to 40. That really sucks! Anyway, it's the big 36 on Tuesday, January 30th, 2007. (there I said it, 36). I am seriously thinking of taking Monday and Tuesday of this coming week off. There is NO football this weekend, and I have Saturday and Sunday free. So WHAT SHOULD I DO? My son loves Dinosaurs, among other things, like Thomas the Train. We've promissed to take him to the Museum to see Dinosaurs, so that is an option. I wanted to go to the Field Museum in Chicago, as it is not too far away, and with no football, parking should be a breeze as da Bears are out of town. We could hook up with my sister in law who lives in Chicago and have blast, eat out, maybe take in Navy Peer. After all, the Field Museum has Sue. My wife does not like Chicago, so it looks like heading North to Milwaukee is the only option on the Museum front. I've not been to the Milwaukee Public Museum in some time, so I guess again, that is the option. Last year I went to the Volo Auto Mall, and loved it. I always drive by it, its only about 20 minutes away, and I would love to do it again. Anyway, I need some new signs for my Garage. I have been refinishing my basement. Built a nice playroom for my son, have the theater set up with big screen TV, surround sound, etc. I suppose I could get moving on finishing the office. I already removed the last of our 5 salt water tanks. SAD... We plan to set up at least one more fresh water, so I could get going on re-finishing the base for that. Anyone have any suggestions. If I do the four day weekend thing, I will have lots of time to spend on other things. I hit the Y in the mornings, and my wife is not up till 2PM most days. She took off Tuesday as well, so I would have at least one day to myself, Monday, though I would have my son as well, so keep that in mind. So, Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday is Family days. Monday, is father son day. One more twist here. I was born on my mothers birthday. Can you believe that? Mom is gonna be 59, and lives in a nearby town. So, I would have to include at least one day in there with mom. Now, she did tell me that we could do the mother son birthday next weekend, but I'm thinking I should do something. Ok, so to help with ideas, a little about me. I live in Lake Geneva, WI. right between Chicago and Milwaukee, so there are lots of things to do within 1 or 2 hours drive. Keep in mind, my wife wants to stay away from Chi-Town (not China town, but Chicago). However, other places across the border are fine. We will make sure to change plates, and remove any Packers gear before venturing down though so as not to get shot at again. I'm in great shape for someone that is going to be 36. Strong, athletic, and in perfect health. I enjoy just about anything that does not involved shopping with my wife, country music, or fat chics in spandex. I like to have a good time. I do drink, and love to socialize, but am not particularly fond of crowds. I like trains like my did does, so anything that involved raild roads is cool. I like Art, (went to college for that), motorcycles (to damn cold here, still), cars. I really don't care to spend too much money whatever I do. I enjoy casual dining, things like Fridays, Tuesdays, Hollihans (too bad there are not more day of the week dining places). My kid is almost 4 so, keep that in mind in terms of what you think we should do. He is still a bit young for the body shop. Lord knows we have enough of those around here. Also, my wife tends to be picky with everything. She hates all the restaraunts I mentioned above, save for Hollihans. Does not like Chicago, if you did not catch that. Probably would not like to venture too far. Sleeps in quite late (2PM) so anything we do that takes the entire day, has to be worth it because if she is awakened from the coffin any earlier, she is a grump all day. My kid can get up at any time. He is potty trained !!! Finally!!! However, where ever we go, the public toilets do not seem to be up to his mini potty standards, so all day events are pretty tricky. Anyone around this area on DP? Make some suggestions. Give me a place I can go that I have never been before? Something unique, interesting, inexpensive, exciting and family friendly. I'm really looking forward to your ideas!
drop the kid off at the grandparents or with babysitter...buy a couples massage for you and your wife at your local spa, and then enjoy the night together. jmo.
You know, the kid loves his grandparents. I do have a customer that owns a Day Spa. Yeah, I did the web site, and host it.. Not my best work. I could likely get a good deal. I've just never been the spa type. I'm leaving that one open as an option though. Depends on what the wife says. My sister is a massage therapist, so no one in our family has ever needed to pay anyone else. Though after my ankle injury, I had her work on that and ever since then, I've called her a quack. I think she actually made it worse. One on one B-Ball can be killer on ankles.
Saturday: Work on ya garage Go out for a meal later on at night with your wife and kid or just your wife as you stated he loved his granparents. Sunday: Work a little more on garage and take some time out as its sunday the day of rest, also make some time for you and your family to go see your mum as its her bday as well. Monday:As you stated your wife is at work and as she dos not like Chicago and its your day with your son why don't you and your son go to the Museum in Chicago. Tuesday:Leave the kid are grandparents and you and your wife go to spar like d16man said. Happy Bday by the way. Just my 2 cents
