Hi I'm new. But have been through the process of choosing domain names. IME 1) Draw up a long list of possibles. 2) Play around with it by searching for similar words to ones you've chosen in the domain name list - eg use a thesaurus 3) Make a shortlist of ones you feel have something unique or a ring to them 4) Type them out without spaces (eg as a web address) - you don't want something that sounds weird when it's a web address. Eg Make Excellence would be makeexcellence. Two e's together are confusing. Another word for excellence is distinction. makedistinction is easier to type and remember. Not a good example for a domain name but just as an example. 5) Apparently it's not good to have "The" at the start. Eg The Home Site - would be better as just "Home Site" - but the best ones are probably expensive or gone. Unless you come up with something a bit unique - and that's the key. It's not easy to find something unique. there will be lots of words associated with home but use word searches, thesauruses and find something that works. Eg if you want the site to be a "place" for Home stuff, then think of "place" words - like corner, cubby, shack or something less common. Home Shack, Creatives Corner, that type of thing. 6) Go for a .com. If you have a choice of your favourite that isn't a .com and a second choice you like that is a .com - go for the .com - or rework your second choice. I ended up using "the" at the start to get the .com. Which is supposed to be bad, but has done no harm - it does make the web address a bit longer to type though. Keeping it to less than 10 characters is better.
If you dont have moveable business, dont choose .com. ex - If you are in singapore, select sg. extension. keep inform them about their services, take review. it will work bes.
Here are some tips for choosing the perfect domain name. First, focus on your website topic or product-related. If your website is home improvement-related, the domain name is concentrated in the home-related name. This can boost SEO. Focus on the domain name is very short or easy to remember from all. And consider that the domain extension has boosted SEO.
Keep it short and easy to remember. Use a .com if you can – it’s the most popular. Avoid numbers and dashes – they just confuse people. Make sure it’s unique and fits your brand. If it’s a used domain, check its history to avoid any past issues. Pick something you can grow with in case your business changes. Check for trademarks so you don’t have legal problems.
