No, sorry, what I meant was that too many ads will make a site look like shit, thus many of your visitors may be leaving as soon as they come in. You should also figure out a way to give your visitors free "need-to-know" or just cool info, like a short article, and put an advertising link in there. That's one way to put in ads without making the site look like crap. If you make the ads very small (small text ads) and put them in the lower right hand corner then they might not look too "pushy". That's my plan. People on this site are VERY cynical. Iv'e only got two responses for my 10 dollar a month ad. One guy contacted me a few times and then left and the other one I'm waiting for a pm. Of course, the site design could be driving away a lot of people but the site design will be remade on Monday.
I love how you asked the community for opinions and then ignored us. I've sold dozens of ad spaces over the years - so I think I know what I'm talking about. $10 a month - why not just give the ad space away for free?
I'm not bashing you guys. I'm bashing people who won't pay 10 dollars a month. Sure I could sell it for 20 dollars a month but nobody on this site would even contact me. I got two contacts with 10 dollars a month but they all want free test drives. I guess I should give them one. I'm not ignoring you people's advice. I'm simply saying nobody will contact me for the 20 dollar a month ad. But probably the site design is scaring people off. Reviews by the site owner are biased but many people fall for them. I don't want to lie to people. Call me a boy scout or whatever. I don't think I could turn away a million dollars like that cop on the movie "American Gangster" though.
