I have been offered a project of designing a company website with a unique logo. I'll be doing all the things including php+mysql coding, xHTML+CSS, javascript.

Client also wants an employee login on the site. I have offered him to do on-page and off-page search engine optimization also.

But as this is my first project of its kind, i have no idea what should i charge. Please give me some idea guys.

Well, you could start small (and look for referrals and more projects from your customer) - and you can simply set up some hourly rate and estimate the project size. For example, if the project takes 50 hours to finish, and you think $20 per hour would be good for you (and the client), then you could ask for $1000.

Another alternative is to find out the client's budget, figure out how valuable your service is to them - and then ask a good price. For example: if the website system would bring them $3000 savings, then asking $1000-2000 would be a good deal for them. If their budget is $10,000 - then you might be able to ask $5,000.

Make sure it's good deal for everybody, and find out how much your client is willing to pay - and how valuable site is for them.

Sacrifice the quick pay day to see if you can get profit sharing.
