What Should I be charging?

    Hi,

I have been a web designer and developer for the last 4 years since graduating Uni. I work for a decent company and do some freelance work. I know exactly how much I should charge for my web design & development services.

However, I have spend the last 2 years learning and training fully in SEO Consultancy and would rate myself as good search engine marketeer. However since I do not know the value of the SEO industry, since work I have done has been through my employers and work I have done for clients I have pretty much just pulled a figure from my a*se!

I have experience both academically and commercially. I have proven success with a few websites and know the theory of how search ranking works in great detail.

What kind of hourly rate should I be charging? What is the average for the UK SEO Market?

What about project basis? Medium sized SEO project, 20 Keyword terms? Roughly how much on a monthly basis?

    All input would be appreciated!

    Thanks

I was starting to do some research quote, but was just wondering if anyone had any advice for me.

The only problem with freelance job websites, is that the people who advertise the need for work through them are generally not realistic with their pricing and only go on their hoping for someone from a country where they work for peanuts to undercut everyone else.
