I am lost about what questions to ask, if i hire the google adwords coach/consultant to teach me how to set up adwords campaigns correctly and manage it on my own.

So in short if my budget is about $250/mo - $350/mo for adwords campaign, I do not know what is involved in setup of a campaign so how do i know whether i am getting everything i am suppose to get for a setup fee of a adword campaign of this size, so what should be included in a setup fee of about $250-$300 someone told me that he would only give me 75 - 100 words researched and not 1000 because my budget is only $250/mo so i would be penalize by google for not using all those 1000 kw's so only use 75-100 so not to be penalized

I do not know how to set up a campaign and unsure if I should learn initially how to set one up on my own then have coach review it to see what i did wrong, or have them set it up then have them show me what he did and give me a comprehensive document on how to manage it .

    What's your end goal?

Do you want to manage the campaign on your own or have them do it? Most guys will set it up, but then they won't teach you how to do it, they'll want to just manage it themselves...

    :)

My objective is to manage my own campaigns for now and to learn how to do ppc marketing with google, msn, yahoo and the things that come with it, such as creating ads, testing, etcccc

The campaigns are strictly for a service business we are providing homeowners in new york state, we target homeowners who need to sell their house and are looking for buyers online to buy their house right away.

A couple of questions comes to my mind and they are as follows:

    1) Is it better to let the coach / consultant set it up initially if so why ?

    2) Is it better for me to learn 1st basics of set up and set a campaign up then go to the coach and ask him to review it for feedback

    3) what are the questions I should be asking myself that will dictate the questions I should the coach once I am ready ?

    4) what are the questions i should ask the coach before to ensure I do not get taken advantage of because I do not know what I am doing and don't know what I should be getting for the money or don't know what to ask to ensure I minimize wasted time and money?

I am very uncomfortable because the intentions may be self movitated and not in my best interest but theirs, so how can i turn the cards around where I look out for my own skin before I get hurt for not doing a little more research before taking the plunge ...:(

    thanks

I would set it up myself, then let them review it for a second opinion.

As for questions you should ask, those will come to you as you setup and run the campaigns. If you're asking about interview questions for a coach ask about experience. Ask about if it's other peoples campaigns or their own that they've run. Ask anything you want to ease your decision.

It's not that hard to do on your own. Lots of people have already. I would start the campaign and ask questions as you go along.

I couldn't agree more. If you let someone else run the campaign for you, I don't care how good he/she is, you will be disappointed.

Instead of telling me to do it on my own and then he would review it, he suggested to let him build it and then for me to consult with him about it.

Bad move after I thought about it, it just did not feel right. This is why I am here to get feedback from others here before I make any decisions.

I feel now the best thing to do is to set it up myself and then go back for help, how can iI really learn if I do not make the mistakes and have someone show me what I am doing wrong and right.
