We are all looking for that magic key to unlock the potential for making money with our websites. You talk about a lot of different key factors to making a profit, but I think we can all agree that it comes down to traffic. You can have the best designed layout or content to die for, but if no one is visiting your site, it's all for nothing. So, here is my list of traffic building resources. What should I add to my resource bank. I have a stock market blog if that helps. Let's start off with Web 2.0 1. First and foremost is StumbleUpon. You can almost always guarantee a short quick burst of traffic after stumbling your site. Now, this type of traffic is temporary and sometimes not targeted, but it does give a boost. 2. If the moons are aligned and the Gods are shining down on your site, you certainly want to try out Digg. The problem with Digg is that it's extremely tough to get your links to stay on the top for long. The best advice I can give is make some favorite articles - Top Ten Albums, Top Ten Vacation sites, etc. Things people would bookmark or link to. 3. Delicious - I've had success with this bookmarking site. 4. Right now I am experimenting with Propeller, Furl and Fark 5. Squiddo Lens & Hub Pages - I have to be honest, I am not having success with these sites, but all the "gurus" say you should be these pages. If for no other reason, you gain backlinks which helps you with Google and Alexa for Page Rank. 6. Yahoo! Answers - I have had success with this site. It's also good because you can get targeted traffic to your site. 7. Ezine Articles - I have had great success with Ezine Articles. Now as the name suggests, you submit articles to their site. You are allowed links back to your site and a signature. 8. Signatures - Forum Posting - I was hesistant at first to put a lot of effort here, but it seems to be working now. 9. WikiAnswers - This is another new site I am trying to use to generate targetted traffic 10. Video Viral Marketing - This is actually at the top of my list. I make a weekly video that I post all over the place. Youtube, Gather, MySpace, Facebook, Revver, Daily Motion, MetaCafe, Google Video and Yahoo Video
11. Comment marketing on related stock blog. 12. Guest blogging 13. Participate in blog carnivals 14. Organize blog contests to gain exposure.
All of those are fine, but they all must be followed by good keyword research. People need to able to find you. I am developing an Ebook on top traffic methods and internet marketing strategies.
Add a few other article directories to EZA. How can you forget PPC? Adwords, YSM, Adcenter. Some second-tier SE's also work. Email marketing - Squeeze pages + List building and then traffic... Goldmine
