what should be the minimum length of url

    Hello Everybody,

    Today i have come across with a site which has url containing more than 150 character. Is it good from seo point of view. i just want to know what should be the minimum and maximum character should URL contain.

    What if i change the big url to minimum length url. Will it effect my ranking of websites.

    Please suggest i need it urgently

    I have read in an article that no domain can be shorter than 3 letters. When you buy domain from any hosting company, you will see them following the rule. The don't provide shorter than 3 letters url. later, i saw a site with only 2 letter in . com. For maximum length, i come back with answer. Really I have not an idea.

    Any site URL should be easily remember-able..and put the keyword in URL so that it can help you to get the ranking in search engines.

    I think it would be best to use just the normal length of domain, that is something like 5-15 characters in length.

    Nice snappy, short, keyword rich domain, and nice, snappy, short keyword rich URLs are the ideal. Your URL probably shouldn't exceed 100 characters at all - there's not much good reason for it and Google will just think you're a bit spammy.

    Twitter URL shortener is only 1 letter. t.co
    I think that is the shortest url possible for a domain name

    the normal length of the url should be 15-20 letters.
