why not limit yourself to one post per 2 days. That way you can re-edit and schedule future posts without being burned out. Of course you can also set it up to post once a week and do your SEO for the rest of the week.

3-4 a week should be good.

but posting alone won't get you traffic

you need to submit your site to the search engines and directories, write articles, promote you blog at forums and sites like twitter and facebook.... posting is just the beginning

If interested, here's a brief post I wrote on my blog... I also have a Category just for Traffic

Its not necessory total quantity of posts/day but if you post unique and quality posts 2-3 times a week then its good IMO. Quality matters, Not quantity.

Everybody here so far has some good information. I have worked with some very successful people/sites/blogs/forums and have learned from some of the best... If you want to get to the top, you need to keep all of these things mentioned in mind, as well as... The true answer to your questions is 3. Three times per day. It's hard to keep up with that if you're doing all of the writing yourself, but you don't need to make each post a novel. I'm sure by the end of this forum post, I'll be around 100-200 words... Double or triple that and you have yourself a sufficient post. The frequency of the posts does make a difference too. Be sure to implement all possible SEO and SEM techniques. If you are still learning these things especially, it's worth the investment to spend a bit of money, or find somebody willing to exchange some services or products, links perhaps... to get some help with your blog. Hope that helps.

For a new blog, I recommend you make at lest 1 post per day. Do not go more then 2 days without making a post. I would continue to do this for the first month. After the first month I think it would be ok to slack up a little (if the pace is too much or if you do not hav enough time) and make 2 - 3 post a week.

But keep in mind, you want quality over quantity. There has to be a point when you stop making filler post and start working on actual, high quality content.

It would be better to submit one quality post per week than three or more less well written ones. People come back to visit blogs that are of interest so make sure the posts are informative and interesting and sometimes leaving people wanting a bit more.

I do agree with prose65; you better write less and create value and quality content then writing more with less quality. I think that post frequency is relative for everyone. In fact, it may depend of:

    1. the goals of your blog.
    2. the time you have to invest.
    3. your level of interest in writing.
    4. the length of your list of article idea.
... and there could be many more....

I think that you have to think about the frequency you would be comfortable with; even if it's 1 post per 2 weeks. Don't worry, if your content is valuable, informative and useful... and if you have a structured distribution strategy, you'll get traffic!

Hope this help... and contact me if you need any further information! =)

It depends on your time and goals, maybe it's more interesting to keep a frecuency of posts better than making a huge number of posts one month and little to no new content in the next month.

Check if you can keep a frecuency of 5 posts a week. Then try to reach another goal.

Sometimes I make 1-2 posts a day and even 3 sometimes if I have the time. I've noticed that if I make more posts in a day I also get more traffic. ;)

The correct answer is to NOT think about Traffic on a new blog. Think about who your visitor/customer is... and how you can solve their problems. Then post content that makes sense to solving that problem.

    There is no magical number.

There are many answers to your question, dependent on who you ask. I think anything between 1-2 posts daily would be sufficient. As someone above me as already said, its not just your content that will get traffic to your site. You can post 2 posts daily, but if no one knows about your site no one will visit it, so seo should be in your daily routine as well, but thats not to say 8-10 hours of seo, a little a day gets you very far!

    Kind Regards

1 post every alternate day is good. That will be 15 posts per month. Mora than that are welcomed but make sure not to stress on quantity but stress on quality.
