Hi I would like to ask what would be the ideal daily budget for a campaign having 15 - 20 ad groups? I am currently running a relationship related campaign and have created more than 5 ad groups. My current daily budget is $50. I intend to create more ad groups. Thought the current budget would not be sufficient. What is your view? Thanks.
It depends on number of keywords, number of clicks, how much you are bidding, and especially how many competitors are bidding on the same keywords, and what industry it is. Click costs vary from a few cents to tens of dollars... The AdWords system can suggest a budget (click the link next to where you adjust the campaign budget) - but be wary, it changes all the time. Best bet is to set your budget to what Google recommends, but check the recommendation every day, and adjust yours upwards when they suggest a higher amount. The only downside of not having a high enough budget is that your ad will not show 100% of the time.
How much can you afford? If you can only afford $10 but you think it shoudl have $100 than thats not very beneficial. I would look at your own personal budget and go off of that.
I recently had set a campaign at £20 a day, thats about $28, but that campaign had just one ad group in it, i guess you dont want to try and spread a daily budget too thinly across many ad groups. Also set what you can handle potentially losing, daily.
Thank you for your opinion. The purpose of having so many ad groups is to test out the keywords. Some long tail keywords that I am bidding is quite cheap. I can have ok QS with a bid price of $0.05. Of course some keywords require higher. Just wondering how many ad groups do you have during preliminary stage of a campaign? Or do you normally have more campaigns and lesser ad groups or more ad groups and less campaign?
Again, depending on how much money you are able to spend on it is your answer. I personally put all my money into traffic! If I have a $30 product for example I used to spend $60 on testing. Now I personally whack in all the keywords and make as many groups (usually of around 6/group) but this can be quite expensive depending on your budget - but worth it long term. I also make a commitment to myself to make every campaign I run profitable! If you're budget is low then go through and select all the keywords YOU think are targeted and only test what u can afford. Hope this pointed you in the right direction
Yes it really depends on your keywords. I say that be careful and make sure you don't set a buget you can't afford.
I think you should do some research at Google Keyword tool. Type in the keyword and you can know from the result.
