What should be posted where?

I posted to the sandbox forum with a question asking "Am I in the sandbox" but got a yellow card (warning) to say it was in the wrong section! It was moved to another forum not specifically dealing with sandbox but SEO.

There is usually a sentence at the top of a forum to describe it's use but this does not give a detailed enough description of usage. Please could somebody tell me if there is a page somewhere that details more fully what should be posted where?

Is it possible to delete a thread since I have a similar thread already going - I just wanted to have a more specific thread in the sandbox forum!

    Thanks.

    It basically works like this:

The forum descriptions are the only indicators as to where something should go. On top of that...

As soon as the title or post goes like "I am..", "My site is", "I'm not ranking...", "I dropped", "Google did this that and the other to me..." then it's a Review. If it's about YOU, then it's not a discussion.

The Sandbox forum is about the sandbox, not about your site which so happens to be in the sandbox.

Let me know which one you want deleted and I'll have a look.

Thanks TOPS30 - your explanation made good sense. I guess it was a review that I was after. Both threads are now active so no need to delete.

    Thanks again.

Well I accidentally posted an offer for my directroy in wrong place and I get an infraction. Last time I checked mods are just supposed to move it and move on yet I get an infraction. If anything why not a yellow ive never done that before..If someone thats been regged here since 2004 or something did that would they have received an infraction for something as little as that?

Most of the times you would get an infraction, yes. If we don't then members tend to get lazy and cause us more work. Now because you got the infraction, you'll remember next time to be extra careful submitting in the right forum. Mission achieved without you being inconvenienced other than a little 1 point infraction that will disappear after a short while.

Don't worry about it - we know pretty well who's the good guy and who's the bad guy. Next time when you slip up you might well just get a warning. Doesn't matter either way though, see it as a mere reminder.
