What are all the things that fall under SEO. I thought everything we do is in a way search optimization. I don't understand. Can someone please explain. Thanks

There is a wealth of information on these forums! Have a good read through and you will quickly realise what is SEO and what isnt.. PPC for example is not part of SEO, but would be classed under search engine marketing i suppose!
it depends upon your skills. if you own the site you optimize the page by thinking the right keywords that is appropriate to your website you will choose keywords with the highest number of searches with less competition then after optimizing your page you start to build backlink for your page you act as a link builder then you consistently making an article or blogs for your website to improve its backlink and gather quality related links so you act as a content provider sometimes if you have some coding skills you will make banner design or html coding for metatags and site layout for site maps and other you act as a webmaster. there for in order to rank higher in SERP you must know all this things so SEO obligation is to do everything in the internet to improve search engine rankings and improve traffic that can possibly convert into sales that is what professional seo does and as a qualify seo with all this qualification will cost you a lot for sure. lol
In a nutshell, SEO involves two areas of optimization: on-site SEO and off-site SEO. On-site refers to optimizing your tags (title, H1,description,keyword, etc.), making your content keyword-rich, and creating a consistent keyword-related link theme. Off-site refers to your link building efforts - quality inbound links from relevant websites, submitting articles to article directories, posting to blogs and forums with a link to your site in the sig., etc. Obviously, there a more to SEO than that, but this summarizes the SEO process.
oh .. ok.. now i understand a little bit better. You know what i don't get,.. its those landing pages that poeple have that have like no content and just have a title and video and opt-in form and they generate so much traffic. How do they do this. Do they mostly rely on ppc campaigns.
where do poeple get quality links ... how do they do it. links that will get them so much traffic. Do they only get good ones if they somehow get their link on a big site or something? in general , where do most quality linnks come from
Yes I did...I understand you are a newbie but you are even lazy on top of that Imagine that you would never learn SEO by opening a thread and hoping that people will give you all the info you need. Read most of the old forum threads, read other forums, buy some e-books or get them for free and most important use that thing called Google! Type in things like "how to get backlinks" how to increase my backlinks", etc... sorry.. i didn't mean it like that. i know how to get traffic and such. its just the quality of linnks. How do you got aboutgetting quality links. What are the characteristics of quality links. SOrry if i didn't word it properly.
sorry... i know know what they are and where some quality links come from... i'm looking for some moreplaces where they come from
