SEO really benefits.
Not only the site we are optimizing gets benefited but we get to know what works and whats not. The knowledge is really useful.
If we get success, we are always motivated to do more and find newer and innovative ways to promote the site.

I prefer On Page SEO - content building, creating accessible websites (i.e. complying with standards, trying for semantic markup) - over Off Page SEO (like link building, social bookmarking etc). Honestly I'm planning to concentrate on On Page SEO in the future, too. Off Page SEO isn't something that interests me that much.

When you got quality content and you're updating your site regularly, people will naturally link to you and you will get more visible in search engines. It takes time though, you won't get to top SERP in few days/weeks/months (well, depends on niche and competition).

 

I think you are true also. If you got good content people will eventually come to your sites. Some may even help u spread though word of mouth

 

is this a real question lo?! of course SEO can only help one's website grow and prosper~!

Which one do you prefer to use White hat or Black hat SEO ?

 

Well since the results of my SEO efforts is the only revenue we have coming into our household: I'm married with three kids, (all in education) have a mortgage, car and owe no money to anyone (except the mortgage) despite going to University but due to health problems (a back condition that hurts like hell) couldn't finish the degree in the final year of study (didn't stop me building up debt though, student loans etc... over the 3 year course which I got to the exams but literally couldn't sit) and so couldn't follow in a career related to my studies (genetics).

Thanks to SEO we have a very good life that I couldn't get working in a standard 9-5 capacity: back problem makes me unemployable, so had to go self employed or claim some form of benefits due to disability (I enjoy working so no thanks)! Interestingly I earn more as an SEO consultant than I would have earned as a research geneticist and I enjoy my work and get to spend as much time as I like with my wife and kids: other than late at night like now when I'm working there's nearly always someone in the room on one of the other 2 PCs.

So yes I can say without a doubt SEO benefits me, I get to make a lot of money while spending most of my time with my family (perfect job for someone like me).
