Hi guys, I'm trying to make a list of what everyone thinks sells best on eBay or other online places. What do you think sells best on eBay? Name at least 5 things and why you think it.
It changes nearly every time, but items that sell best (most of the time) according to ebay are: - Antiques - Collectibles - Paintings - Sculptures - Rare Books You can check it at ebay / Buying Guides
Just found this video on What sells best on ebay - The girl on the video said Electronics like laptops are best when it comes to selling at high profit margins. and recommended using Wholesalelaptopsuk.com as a supplier for it, also esources and Alibaba - im gonna have to save some money so i can make my first order. thanks for your reply everyone.
I agree that electronics are a decent way to make money on eBay, particularly if you have a good supplier. If you're looking to narrow down the niche a little bit, try looking into automotive electronics, such as car stereos. I'm sure antiques and collectibles can be rewarding, but 1) suppliers are more difficult to come by, 2) your target market is much smaller, and 3) your profit margin is likely to be wildly unpredictable. One last note, there is huge competition on eBay for electronics particularly, so be sure to do the proper market research before making a significant investment in inventory!
Thanks @JohnOfferMarket - I think thats a pretty good idea about car electronics especially, never crossed my mind. I found this article on what sells on ebay, they have the same video embedded but its a pretty good read in case anyone else is looking too. http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/Best-things-that-Sell-on-Ebay-with-High-Profit-Margins-and-Sales-/10000000177684278/g.html
Agree about Electronics (used and new phones, tablets, computers and everything related.) I whould like to mention Antiques(old coins and paper money) Watches, Books, Cosmetics and clothes)
Selling packaged items people need or are too ignorant to no otherwise. Some sellers make a killing from listing "ebay seller packages" that include scales, packing material etc. that have huge markups. Another example, anti-freeze kits. Another possibility and again playing upon the "ignorance" of the buyers, buying bulk common items and reselling them individually. Great example, "K Cups." Some sellers are getting rid of em at a couple bucks a pop even though Walmart sells them for as low as you can go. I shopped around and did the math. It's really just about positioning yourself the right way. They'll sell the K cups as more like "testers" so people naturally think they are getting a better deal and being a smart shopper, opposed to purchasing a case.
