    Alta Vista before then I used google but now I use ifrogg.net because it let's you search for forums and andything else.

    I used to use yahoo before google, but the interface was very cluttered so I switched to search a lot before finally moving to google, where I still returns almost several times a day.

    I was using Altavista and then in 1999 I discovered Google in a magazine and checked it out and fell in love with it..LOL.. it's still the best SE hands down today but nowhere near as effective as it was back then.

    The reason I switched to google was because there search results where more relevant to me. With yahoo results I had go to the second or third page to find what I wanted.

    For me, it was Altavista and Lycos with a bit of Infoseek from time to time. Since the advent of Google, I don't typically stray anywhere else.

    Monopolistic overtones aside, I go with what works.
