    building links I guess.
Now everything is focusing on content.
But I have doubts search engines can grade content.
But they seem to rely on social networks and google likes its own google plus, the +1 button.
You still need to do the traditional but now focus on building a good website that people visit for more than 10 seconds.

The OP's original post makes no sense at all. (Unless you mean Google/Bing vs Facebook/Twitter - or similar - for search, but you're still making very little sense.)

    Re svfox.
You have doubts that SEs can programmatically grade content? Seriously? I take it you are not a coder? Stop by the computing department of your local university and you will find there a student who will have done such a thing as a project and can show you their code for grading content, give a live demonstration.

(Hint: Panda and Penguin are an example of what Google has recently been doing with regards to improvements in grading content.)

Also, read Danny Sullivan's interview with Matt Cutts (at SMX), where it's stated social signals aren't used as a ranking signal (outside of personalised search).
