You think you're protected by the law but why is that the case? As anarchy grows all around us, as more and more people head to the gutter, what indeed gives one person the right to rule over another? The law gives us that right I hear you say, okay well what gives the law that right then? When researching this many years ago I discovered it was the fact 'society' supported us that gave it the right to rule over us. Because it provides social welfare (human rights) to its members it owns us and sets the rules we live by. It didn't say it straight-out like that but the underlying permissions was 'because society promises to ensure my good health it takes away my right to exist or, subsist on my own recognance'. So, if so many people are in the gutter can that be construed as 'the law cannot apply to them?' As society strips itself of its compassion is it also removing the right to rule others?
The rule of law was created from the Cro-Magnon days and up not for one person to rule over another, but rather to protect the majority from human nature. We are an aggressive species, this is why police, jails, judges, armies etc. are needed. You can see evidence of human nature in any playground with 5 and 6 year olds. They will beat the hell out of each other over a sandpail. They must be controlled and so do we "adults". In an idealistic world we would all get along,no need for traffic lights, stop signs, and any rules or laws at all.I am a realist and thank God for the rule of law. Socrates said,"A people deserves it's government".So if our government is corrupt, then what does that say about us?
Indeed, I believe in the need for rule of law too, though I don't agree with many. The post was not to criticize the law, it was to make people aware that we might be inadvertently brushing aside the power of the law by losing the compassion we also once held dear. If we don't look after people then the law itself will/must rule itself invalid in certain circumstances.
it is absolute true rule of law, But unfortunately the world is going with the law of might is right.........it is quite unfair when we see super powers killing thousands of innocent peoples.
Mao Zedong said : Prominent communists of the past used the teachings of Charles Darwin to support murdering millions. It was an excuse to rise to power.
I obviously won't ask if you had any biology or history lessons , but, English? Have you got any of that?
Fear, why did you do what your parents told you to do? Because you feared the consequences. You can make people do almost anything if they fear you. That's why drug cartels have amassed enormous power. Nobody is making you follow any rules and your free to fight back against law at any point, but it's you and what army. Because unless you've got a whole military behind you, good luck.
