I don't believe in that, though I would manually go into the registry to remove some entries that are not needed. Thats all, don't really think a reg cleaner is needed.
I am using ONE of the best ofcorz PC Tool's Registry Mechanic.. And also I tried using some other Registry Mechanic but nothing beats PC Tool's Registry Mechanic
It speeds up the system a lot especially if people never clean it before. Btw, I'm using CCleaner. It's a freeware.

BTW can you tell us which necessary items it removes And you have option there to remove all unnecessary files or just particular files (selection option). DON.
