What recourse do I have if I baught www.site.com and the route domain is site.com?

I bought a site site.com, turns out that the route domain is site.com and is hosted by the owner on his own servers. He plans on selling his servers which leaves me with the predicament that I cannot move the site to another host as they can only support www.site.com. This means that the traffic value on my site will suffer if I transfer as all links would have to be re-indexed and I will lose ranking on all articles. I did not know that this was the issue when I bought the site. Can I sue or is there a work around?

Any decent host will be able to support your site at hxxp://site.com rather than hxxp://www.site.com

Look further afield and demand the features you require.

Oh, and if the vendor is also the domain registrar move it to someone independent like namecheap, godaddy asap.
