What purpose you use twitter? Only for promote your website and get some traffic from them or there are any other stuff which i not seen. I just put my daily updated content on Twitter.

Promote website, I like it for its simplicity, but it is also very effective.

 

Twitter concept is easy and simple, its all about following and followers, how many your followers and how many peoples you are following? those all peoples watching your sharing things. So increase your followers and following both that definitely boost your website.

 

The Twitter traffic seems to have low conversion rate.

 

i hate to say this for me twitter is no good for promoting my website. I normally get twitter followers from my website NOT the otherway around.

If you ask your friends to tweet about it, the message will spread faster all over the friends of your friends and so on.

 

I have also found difficult to get anything out of twitter.

Conversion rate and the traffic depends upon your network, if you have a network related to your topic it means you will be find more traffic and conversion rate other wise you don't, although you have big big networks.

I have to agree, I have an ad for people to join twitter on my website. Which they do, but I never seem to get any benefit from twitter in term of feedback about my content. Sometimes it feels like I am tweeting the the ether.
