I’m done installing Wp now to look for a template. I think I’ll start with the spirit theme think it’s the easiest for me. Thanks for the help SpringCypress.

I have made very limited progress on my template. I just can't seem to get the hang of the code and find it very difficult to alter certain code.

Can any help me by providing a site that contains documentation on how to create a WP template.
I find the information n wordpress.org very complicated.

The main problem is to try and add an image to de header and add some extra features.

Is there any way we can block certain people from leaving a comment on WP, like a plug in that would block known spammers and people that leave rude comments.

    I appreciated any help thanks.

as to your comment problem... there are several spam plugins for WP out there... check at the wordpress.org site under extend... there are links to 4 plugin repositories. Also an easy way to cut down on crap comments is to require commenters to be logged in (set in discussion). You can take it further and set it so all comments are moderated before being posted... That's the most full proof method.

As to your theme problems... post what you've got and what you're trying to get to here and I'll take a look at it.

Well you've pretty much got the header down pat. What extra features were you looking to implement?

BTW, You've done a great job so far!

That's what I was thinking... just need to switch in the image in place of the pink box...

After that it looks to just be sidebar modifications and tweaking.

edit: I stand corrected... the image has already been switched in... you're well on your way to duplicating it.

Thanks SpringCypress and Mister Tut. I think the basis is done but I am still having problems with getting the sidebars to look good. I want to add some graphics, images, polls, recent comments and most importantly get the fonts sizes right.

Well, for font sizes you'll need to dapple with the css, obviously. Polls and recent comments now have WP plugins available, so that'll be easy.
You seem to know what you're doing with graphics already, but if you have any more specific questions, let us know.

No joke! Once you've got it finished up and looking the way you want be sure to zip it up and submit it to WPT!

It's starting to look VERY much like what you're pulling from.

Well I think it’s done. After a few weeks of hard work the new template looks nearly the same as the previous one. Now just have to edit posts and do some minor adjustments and it’s done. Thanks every one for your help.
