What Price To Sell A Site?

    Hi there,

I have a few web sites that I think I want to sell... however I am stuck as to how much to ask for them.

    - They are relatively new sites, 2-3 months old.
    - They are niche content sites, mostly for Adsense.
    - They have 5-10 unique good articles on them.
    - They average about $30 a month each from Adsense.
    - They get some search traffic, from being good keyword sites.

I didn't want to just post one for sale and ask too much, but I also didn't want to ask to little.

What do you think would be a fair asking amount?
    Should I ask for 1, 3, 6, or 12, months of revenue?

Any help would be much appreciated,

    Thanks!
    Joel

I just sold a site I started over a year ago. I invested less than 3K into the site and sold it for over 12K. I didn't have a price, the person who bought just made an offer, because the site really wasn't for sale.
I think it would be hard to price a site, because you really don't know what the revenue will be in the 2, 4, 5, 10, years down the road.

I was not really doing anything with the site so I decided to make a nice profit and sell it. My new site, consumertreehouse.com, I have not plans on selling it in the near future, even thought I have already recieved a few offers.

It's hard to price a site, so just make sure that you take the time and really think about what you make or lose from the site.

    Good Luck

You should ask for 9X of monthly profit unless the sites run on a special "costly" script.

It may be difficult for you to sell the sites at more than 3x rev. at this point. They're new and don't have an established record.

it depends on age of the site, you can ask higher for older site.

One year's time for the new owner recoup his cost would be a good starting point
