I have recently put some good thought to this, but the collection of free plugins that I have put together work really well to get my websites to rank in Search Engines. I was wandering what your list is and which plugins do you recommend to get your websites up the top faster? Regards Konrad By the way you can find my list at my website. The link is in my signature below this post.
All in one SEO is considered the best ( premium version is better ) and that`s about it You don`t need another ( i think )
I have used all in one SEO in the past but would have to say that Wordpress SEO by YOAST blows it out of the water. Most online marketers have migrated to it and wordpress recommends it as well. But if you feel comfortable with ALL in one SEO its still is really good. There are a few extra plugins which I definitely recommend, check out my list and let me know what you think
https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/ http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smushit/ https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-super-cache/ hope that helps, Nigel
I like your list Nigel, but I personally used wp-super-cache and after trying w3 total cache I notice a significant increase in my websites performace. The beauty of wp-super-cache is that is simple to use. Additionally what do you do for spambots? I have a few extra's on my list that take care of most things that will bring your website down. Check out my list and let me know what you think Regards Konrad Link is in my signature
Hey Konrad. I don't really have metrics on the difference between wp super cache and total cache. Its likely apples and oranges. On WP I use contact form 7 with recaptcha and things seem fine. I have a few xenforo gigs going on and I installed this http://xenforo.com/community/resources/tac-tenants-anti-spam-collection-anti-spam-free-version.1474/ I am generating about 70 pages of bot registrations every 3 hours. I will poke around but that xen stuff largely works because it has hidden reg. fields. If they start getting filled out the plugin simply punts the IP. There is likely a WP plugin floating around that does that. Nigel
I found a 20-30% increase in website loading speed after I converted from wp-super-cache to w3 total cache and I measured it using google speed tool. I tried it on multiple websites and got the same results. Definitely recommend w3 total cache
In my site, I am using SEO Ultimate and Related posts plug-ins, which can help you optimize the meta title and description, and related posts will help you optimized the inner links.
Yoast SEO after getting my host to complain that "All in one SEO Pack" did something to put the CPU under pressure (I presume a setting I made wasn't good). I also use a cache plugin and have started paying more attention to the speed recommendations from Google Developers and pingdom. Not all things can be applied in my case, but some did help out.
i Like All in one SEO, and YOAST, the two most popular ones, sometimes i dont know which one i want to install lol, both are excellent.
Yeah those are really good plugin suggestions. I use EWWW photo optimization because I found it had a few extra options that smushit didn't and recommend it. Makes a huge difference. What do you use to prevent spambot attacks? Regards Konrad
I have few anti-spam measures I've successfully used: 1. Akismet is up and running. 2. all new commenters are moderated. Afterward they can post and get their comment to show instantly. 3. all comments with a link are moderated. 4. am actively banning IPs, if they send spam.
Yeah, having plugins for spam bots is a must as they use up so much bandwidth and can significantly reduce your online serp
