I've only been the US once when I was a teenager in the late 80s (CA,NY,WI,IN), if I ever go back (which I won't *thank you TSA*) my first stops would be Denver and Austin.

The only place in America that has scenery is the South because we know not to build skyscrapers and cover the ground in concrete. If you go up north to NY, you'll get concrete wastelands. If you go west to California, same deal. There are some scenery in California, but nothing beats the South. I was born, raised and I'm going to die in the South.
Anywhere in California. You will find beautiful scenery, fun people, great American culture. And you won't pick up a silly accent.
