    Hi,
I am curious what photo editing software or apps do you use for mainly any social media pictures or website pics? I dont mind paying a few bucks but who doesn't love free products. If you have a pros or cons about any products out there, I would love to hear it.

Free stuff can help you get the job done:

GIMP as an alternative for Photoshop
Inkscape as an alternative for Illustrator
Shotcut as an alternative for Camtasia
Hitfilm Express as an alternative for Premiere / Final Cut Pro
Open Office as an alternative for Microsoft Office

Photoshop for legitimate high end editing/retouching/graphics.

http://madewithover.com/ is awsome for type overlaying.

Photoshop is always the best option, quick and easy. If you dont know how to use it, you can learn it online, just few amends in the photos and its done, you can use them for your social media networks. Just make sure they are not owned by someone else :)

If you don't need complicated design works you can use Canva. I find it a good solution for fast editing.

Well photoshop is great to use on your computer and to make some big changes on your pictures. There are a lot other apps you can download and edit your pictures on your phone. The best apps for IOS to edit pictures are:
    - Snapseed; one of the most popular photo editing apps for iPhone, that is because it is easy to use, but at the same time it offers a powerful collection of tools. There’s a great selection of creative filters that you can use to convert your photos to black and white, apply textures, add blur effects, and otherwise enhance the mood of your images.
    - VSCO;While this app also functions as a camera app, it’s the rich collection of filters and editing tools that attracts iPhone photographers. Every filter can be adjusted to suit your taste, and the app also features a number of highly-effective editing and adjustment tools.
    - Filterstorm Neue; This app offers many of the features and editing control of more powerful desktop applications like Lightroom and Photoshop, but in a mobile-friendly format. Filterstorm Neue is set apart from the rest is that you can selectively apply adjustments through a number of tools, including a powerful masking brush as well as radial and linear gradient filters. This program is available for $3.99 from the App Store.
    - Enlight; has a collection of basic and advanced editing tools. With so many features, this app can take a bit of time to fully understand, but each tool is very intuitive in how it works. This program is available for $3.99 from the App Store.
Some of the best android app for editing pictures are:
    - Bonfire Photo Editor is a free app that has very basics which include filters along with basic editing tools. What makes Bonfire a lot of fun, though, is the sheer number of filters that it supports.
    - Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Express; Lightroom can be used to adjust photos with a slew of one-touch adjustments while Photoshop Express lets you do the basics like add filters, crop, as well as an auto-fix function that helps smooth out the rough edges.
    - Airbrush; It is a free app and it is a great photo editing app if you take a lot of selfies. It specializes in quick fixes and edits made to face and skin including a blemish remover, teeth whitening, a function to make eyes look brighter, reshaping tools, and, of course, plenty of filters to add some pizzazz.

If you're not proficient at Photoshop or have it... try MisterClipping.

You submit an image, tell them what you want done to it, they respond with a quote, you decide if you want to proceed or not.

    They're pretty quick and inexpensive.

Personally I use Photoshop. But, if you are on an extreme budget, GIMP does the trick.

My recommendation for you is Adobe Photoshop CS6 or Adobe Lightroom.
Also you can try Gimp or PhotoScape.

Photoshop for the reason that you build your skills with it with each edit or new work. The subscription is cheap these days.

I know it has been mentioned already, but I still love GIMP - www.gimp.org - it is always free, and has been able to do anything I needed with editing pics.
