Hi. I am looking for some statistics I can quote on the importance of building SEO friendly sites.

A pie chart would be really cool (which shows for example 82% search engines, 12% Web sites/blogs, 6% other etc....

Does anyone know of a good and somewhat credible resource for these figures (and please don't mention some site that charges $500 for a report like this)

It depends on your SERP... Mine is around 5%...
I am getting 75% from forums and 20% from bookmarking sites, especially stumbleupon, digg, and technorati

It could be anywhere from 0% to 100% depending on the site, I think you would be better off showing a case study of the traffic increase in a site before and after you have applied your SEO.
