Hi people recently seeing posts and threads regarding lesser no. of moderators here i thought it will be a good idea if we discuss what all we want from moderators here here are some of my suggesstions: you can add your own too Firstly if a newbie opens a thread in wrong category his thread should be shifted plus he should be notified about the thing so that he dont repeat it later Secondly if a thread is closed it should be informed to the required person and some hearing kind of thing should also be made like in courts so that atleast people have one chance to explain themselves might be he is been wrongly took by the people Thirdly is basically a forum requirement that if someone give you bad or good reputes his name should be available with the person to thank him Fourthly people uselessly give bad reputes sometimes and to the post which has no linked with the other post just by seeing the last message posted by the person.This should be sort out.No animity kind of thing should prevail here.This could be serious in case of new people who join DP and havent built a good reputes if they recieve such kind of -ve reputes uselessly then it would have bad effect on DP Fifthly flexibility of moderators should be their according to time zone means one or two moderators should be available for help.If a person has opened a wrong thread or post he didnt know of he could ask moderator to close or delete it rather ,also if some thread is dead and mod's havent close them people still got infractions and bad reputes for them.This should be corrected Lately if u fell any other things you require out of moderators here please feel free to post it here
no, then tthey will abuse the requirements to post in certain threads more. and also most newbies know they are not limited to post in certain threads thats why they took chances to spam in wrong threads KNOWINGLY. Well, if OP violated rules there should be no "court" section since OP is caught red-handed as if shooting someone in the middle of the crowd. PLUS, they (those who got threads closed) always complain in gen chat or other threads by starting 29383284 posts regarding why their thread got closed already. No new rule for that that, if a person really wish to see the name, then the person DO care about it and most likely will care about "revenge" as well and it'll only cause trouble and huge MESS. This I <b>agree</b>. I see people trying to -rep and if the category did not allow (as in gen chat), they simply choose/find other thread of the "target" and -rep in there and it should be FIXED. <b>definitely agreed</b>.. But then who cares about those .. plus the chance of a person getting 10 or more -reps is low unless the person is in bad character. true as well. But I think most are taken care of in timely manner by hte mods too. Try PM-ing a mod, there are few who answers or get on your case within minutes!!! None-the-less more mods will be better depending on time zone. and people need to be reminded again and again of their bad deeds and we need to give them infraction whenever we remember.. Hm...for the first point their should be 2 private 0 points infractions..after that it wont be tolerated For second i can agree with you on thread close...but he should be allowed to atleast put his report if he thinks he is outdone For third again their is 50-50 agree with you...atleast the +ve rep names can be shown to thank them...if -ve creates enimity then dont display names in -ve ones
oh yeah, I forgot about +reps.. yes agree, +reps should reveal names and -rep should be optional.. good point there as for a person trying to stand up for his post being closed or infracted, I'd say we dont encourage them .. or there'll be 2-3 times more threads started complaining or discussing with no end/goal.
yeah thats true but he can submit his report to moderators then its upto moderators to take any further action
