What Payment Processor Should I Use To Sell Sites?

    Hi,

I'm looking into making a website very similiar to how Sedo works, to sell websites (don't go on about how it won't work, because you don't know all the details ;) ). So I was wondering what would the best payment processor be for me to use?

I would be charging a % of the final sales price so would it be easier to use my own bank account as a sort of Escrow and deduct that % before sending payment to the seller, or should I actually use Escrow. Or is there another payment processor that would work for me?

    Any thoughts appreciated :)

I think you can work this way:

Like freelancer and other things.Make an system using which buyers or sellers can deposit money in there account for example each credit of your site will cost 1$ and buyer will deposit money in his account to get credit in his account and then he sends those credit to seller using his account and then seller can withdraw that money.I think thats the best way to process payment in those kind of sites. In this way there wont be any cheat like people may not pay you commission if they have direct contact with seller itself. You can use escrow for depositing money.I hope this gives you some idea.s

Even though PayPal is the most widely used processor, when selling intangible goods like domains and sites, I would be careful of scammers who will receive the product then open a dispute saying that they never received the product.

You can try moneybookers as they do not allow chargebacks. There are millions of moneybookers clients and theyre still growing. Either that or setup your own merchant account through your bank.

If you try to process the payments yourself, you will find that all of your time gets swallowed up trying to resolve disputes between members, in a forest of "he said"/"she said." For your own sanity, outsource the escrow process! Whether to escrow.com, or another reputable escrow provider. I don't know if an escrow provider might be prepared to give you (and hence your users) a discount in return for being the "official escrow provider" to the site, if the volumes prove high enough.
