I'm currently redoing an e-commerce site and I need to decide what payment options to do. I would like to use Google Checkout for it, but I'm not sure.

    What are your opinions?

For a small to medium volume site, paypal pro can easily integrate in a site now. Rates are very good.

For a large volume site, authorize.net dedicated credit card processor is ideal.

I think starting out paypal is one of the most popular solutions for a business. As others have said though, for a large volume of sales you might consider a merchant account (2checkout, authorize.net,etc.)

I used Paypal in the beginning and it was ok.
I think it's even better to use it in the beginning, because buyers trust PayPal.

I suggest Paypal for starting out. Almost every online merchant accepts it.
