Dear DP friends, What payment methods do you prefer when you go to a Registrar's website and start registering domain names? To be honest, we've already spent much time in seeking for more appropriate payment methods except Paypal and wire transfer. We notice that nearly all western Registrars accept Credit Card. However, I am afraid it's not so easy for us to take secure measures to protect ourselves once the clients claim refund in bad faith with the banks located outside of China. What's your suggestion? Kindest regards,
I use my DB for register a new domain. DB are secure than CC. If a website receive payment via paypal or 2CO. I will prefer 2CO.
I really appreciate your responses and advices. But could any of you please be so kind as to explain to me what 2checkout and DB represent separately? Sorry, I ain't familiar with the billing acronyms. Thank you!
Paypal is good because you can easily withdraw anytime you want and it's more faster than other payment methods.
Hello iwebsocial, Hello eunette143, thank you for the comments. TBH, I am totally confused now. One of our clients refused to transfer domain names to us and the reason is as follows: "The reason why I did not choose you as my Gaining Registrar to receive my domain transfers is because you only accept PayPal. I do not use PayPal as it is a disreputable and untrustworthy payment method."
Paypal all the way, but also Skrill - ex Moneybookers provides a top service, and has the option to withdraw to own bank, unlike Paypal.
We set up account in HSBC and now if we want to insert the payment processing method of Credit Card, Visa and MasterCard you know, so is Visa/MasterCard company that I should contact or HSBC I should contact?
For a Domain registrar,Credit cards and Paypal are by far the 2 best choices. In order to accept Credit cards you can use a third party processing company like "2checkout".They will set up everything for you to accept cards. The downside is that their fees are high i.e around 5.5%. If you want to save on that fee then i guess you'll need to contact your bank and attain a "Merchant account" which can be a lot of hassle.
Thanks for your info, avinash241. (handshaking...) I visited the website: 2.9%+30¢ (US Sellers) 5.5%+45¢ (Sellers located in other countries) Right, the service fee is not low, and they don't specify that Merchant Account will get a good discount. Oops!!
I personally like PayPal only. As I have earned a lots of money in payza, promoting some silly sites, I also use that to pay. But this is not as I like it, it is just to realize my money from payza. The second way I like to pay with my virtual credit card as it is always safe and you can protect your main Account's identity. It is generally available with your bank. If you don't get that from your bank you may try entropay I use both type of virtual credit cards never ever I have had any problem with entropay. As I don't use anything else to pay online I should have no comments on others.
MoneyBroker? Well, I stay in Hong Kong or Mainland China really didn't hear of that. If on the board, there is anybody who is from MB, please offer more details. Thanks!
Hey Shipra Mukhopadhyaya, nice to meet you here. Actually, victorqd mentioned EntroPay unconsciously in another thread as well, I visited their website just now, and wrote their support team. You know, I am not so sure about whether they have solutions for domain Registrar to collect $ from customers' CC outside of China and how the service see will be.
Well, we didn't receive any response from them till now, could anybody please help on DP? >>--- Original Message --- >>From: "NiceNIC Support" >>Date: 28-04-2013 11:25 >>To: ; >>Subject: Will Entropay do for domain Registrar? Hello Entropay, Your service was introduced on DP, a hot webmaster forum, I am wondering whether you provide payment processing solution for companies(i.e. domain Registrar) as Paypal does or NOT. Our customers from outside of China love the payment method of Credit Card(Visa, MasterCard). However,we can't accept the payment of kind as we have no way to secure the trade and protect ourselves once the clients claim refund in bad faith with the banks located outside of China. I look forward to hearing back from you. All the best,
Any payment method you use would subject you to a certain degree of insecurity as it relates to online payments. The only payment option which is would safe guard your funds is collecting cash in hand! With that said, the most trusted forms of payment are PayPal Credit Card You should implement a fraud checker feature on your website to rule out orders which come from known fraud offenders and other malicious entities. Then you should have a safer experience online
