I want to sell a physical product that needs to be shipped online. I will offer it via paypal but some people do not have an account and would rather just enter their CC info and buy. There are many companies that offer payment gateway,... but I have no idea what to chose! Low commission is preferable Nevertheless reliability is the most important! I want to make it just the same as with any product that sells via Click Bank: on the landing page, when you decide to "buy now" you are one click away from purchase. In usual online shop you are at least 4 steps away and that drives customers away. But I guess that is programing issue. Payment gateway is an issue of the company you chose to process your CC orders. What do you recommend? What is your experience? What to avoid? Any advice would be great. Many thanks, Met
There are many Authorize.net is the biggest one for payment gateway Let me know if you are interested I can implement this to your site but charge you
Thanks guys,... will definitely check them all out. What are the usual commissions they take? PayPal takes between 5 and 10% I think. I know most mobile phone payment gateways charge as much as 50%,... witch is outrageous. What is the usual rate? Met
Best way is go with Google checkout and get adword as well. they then will remove the ................commion fee
zahidraf,... that is an excellent news! Did not know that. I knew about Google checkout,... but did not know they have such low commission rates. Although (correct me if I'm wrong) you have to be an US or UK citizen or at least have a US or UK bank account?
i would also recommend 2checkout. u get a CC attched to this account. People with paypal can also pay into this CC and can also be used to verify paypal
Paypal has issues around tracking conversions Google Checkout offers analytics tracking but need UK/US account Eway is useful within Australian Please only use one payment gateway, multiple gateways are painful if you are trying to track conversions
MetStivn Yes, Currently, Google checkout is availble for Us and UK but not necessay that you are their citizien they just need the bank info.
Authorize.net, but they just had that issue where a fire knocked out power to their datacenter around the 3rd of July. Hopefully they learn from this because Authorize.net is the 800 pound gorilla in the gateway business. A lot of merchant accounts contract with Authorize.net. Check into that and you might be able to get a bundled package that is more affordable. Don't forget a good SSL certificate if you are going to host the payment page. Godaddy has affordable SSL certs that are around $80 a year. Find a Godaddy coupon code to get it even cheaper.
Paypal is good, but the fact of the matter is that not everyone can use paypal so i'd suggest trying to find some alternatives if possible
Great advice!! Thanks! A lot of stuff but I will check it all out. I understand that 2 pay options are distracting,... but I love how Click bank products are being charged: on step payment... left: regular CC card process right: pay with paypal I guess they know what works best?
